San Benito County officially turned 150 this year, so it’s time to celebrate! The 150th anniversary Celebration of the county’s founding will take place Saturday, July 27, from 10am to 6pm at San Benito County Historical Park at 8300 Highway 25 just south-east of Tres Pinos.
The anniversary celebration is packed with events and activities for people of all ages, from guest speakers, live music and other entertainment, to food trucks, games, and a car show.
The party starts with a welcome message and land acknowledgement ceremony featuring numerous government officials: Sen. Alex Padilla, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, Sen. Anna Caballero, Sen. John Laird, and Speaker of the Assembly Robert Rivas. The morning ceremony is expected to start around 11:00am.
The rest of the day and early evening will be filled with tons of different types of entertainment and activities. There will be a petting zoo, a jumphouse, lawn games, and activities like face painting for the kids.
