Construction continues on the Highway 156 Corridor Improvement Project as Caltrans will reduce Highway 156 to one lane between Alameda and Lucy Brown Road beginning on Wednesday, July 24 and Thursday, July 25 between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. and for Sunday, July 28 between 9 pm and 5 am.

Travelers will encounter two-way traffic control between Alameda and Lucy Brown Road and can expect delays. Caltrans asks that motorists plan for their travels.

The San Benito Route 156 Improvement Project will construct a four-lane expressway
immediately south of the existing Hwy. 156 alignment. This 5.2-mile project extends
from San Juan Bautista at The Alameda and continues to just east of Hwy. 156
Business Route (4th St.) in Hollister.

Travelers are encouraged to be aware of electronic message boards, flaggers and all
highway workers within this work zone.
