Georgian fuel excise revenues hit GEL 586 million

The Ministry of Finance’s Treasury reports that in the first 11 months of 2024, the Georgian government gained GEL 586 million from fuel excise taxes, increasing by 11% year-on-year.

Revenue breakdown:

  • Gasoline: GEL 307 million, increased by 11% 
  • Diesel: GEL 241 million, increased by 11% 
  • Other Petroleum Products: GEL 39 million, increased by 9% 

Over the year, Georgia has imported 1.43 million tons of petroleum in form of various products, expenses amounting to USD 1.2 billion, a 13% increase.

  • Romania: USD 150M
  • Azerbaijan: USD 76M
  • Turkey: USD 70M
