BenitoLink hosted an election forum Feb. 8 at the Granada Theater in Hollister. About 70 people were in attendance but thanks to our sponsors, BenitoLink was able to record and edit the event and now offers short videos on each race.
The videos have been uploaded to the BenitoLink Video YouTube channel. Please click each race to view the video of your choice. *Please note, Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren was in Washington DC and requested an opportunity to be asked the same questions. On Feb. 8, she was given the same questions and time as the other candidates. Her video is provided below. The candidates in attendance were as follows:
At our forums and town halls, BenitoLink asks all attendees to fill out an anonymous survey. Guests drop off these impromptu exit surveys at the end of the event. BenitoLink tallies the results and shares them with the public. The surveys are informal and only take into account the candidates in attendance. There were about 70 audience members and 59 surveys were collected. The question in the survey stated: “Which candidates impressed you the most (check all that apply)?”
Tallies for candidates who attended the forum are below.
Please note the numbers don’t tally because several attendees did note vote in all categories and some crossed out entire races: Senate and District 5.
US Representative 18th District:
Peter D. Hernandez – 31
Luele N. Kifle – 8
Lawrence Milan – 25
